Our Nursery is designed to ensure that all aspects of the development of Infants is accommodated and encouraged. We have a separate sleep room, which allows individual child/family routines to be respected and followed. Children are offered age and developmentally appropriate stimulation and encouragement to explore, engage, experience and communicate – as only infants can! Our babies are treated as whole, capable and communicative people who are treated with care, love and respect.
The spaces in our toddler environment are designed to encourage the children to explore, discover, create and imagine through a play-based curriculum. The environment and program is vibrant and flexible and responsive to the interests and abilities of each child. Learnings include puzzles, literacy and numeracy activities, construction activities, creative arts, music and pretend play set-ups.
Juniors & Pre Kinder
Our Junior & Pre-Kindy children are further developing their language skills, often developing specific interests in activities that engage them for longer periods of time – with increasing complexity. Individual interests and preferences are readily apparent – and our team works hard to ensure that the environments and activities provided offer further stimulation, the capacity to build on capabilities and strengthen skill sets. Mathematical reasoning concepts are explored through science and cooking experiences. Language skills and relationship building skills are enhanced through opportunities for conversations and reflection as groups and one on one. Physical skills are developed through increasingly complex challenges and opportunities to take risk. The capabilities of 2 – 4 year olds are amazing to observe and our team ensure interests and challenges are documented and occasions to discover more are consistently provided.
We are proud to offer a Queensland Kindergarten Program at our Centre. Our Kindergarten program is led by a qualified Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teacher who delivers a program grounded in the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline Your child will further develop their skills, knowledge and capabilities in our play-based learning environment. “School readiness” is primarily ensuring your child is emotionally, physically and socially ready to embark upon the next, more formal, stage of their educational ‘career’. We remain focussed on support, encouragement, opportunity for learning and individual interests – while ensuring your child’s knowledge, love of learning and capacity to self-regulate is steadily increasing. The opportunities for learning will focus on further building confidence and abilities – verbally, emotionally, cognitively, physically and socially.
“Creating Knowledge and Wonder”
Here at Nurture Early Education, we believe that each child is with us to be nurtured;
We nurture their minds through providing a stimulating, interesting, challenging, comfortable, contemplative, imaginative, creative, supportive, fun, exciting, intentional, flexible play-based, Reggio-Emilia inspired learning environment.
We nurture the children’s bodies, through providing interesting, delicious, nutritious food, and creating opportunities for exercise, using muscles, taking a physical risk and consolidating physical skills.
We nurture the children’s relationships, their respect for themselves and others, their surroundings, the environment and the broader community. We understand that we are building future generations and believe that children who are treated with care, who are loved and who learn to value learning will be incredible people.
We nurture the children’s spirit through guiding social interactions, offering opportunities for choice, encouraging them in their agency and by recognising, respecting, valuing and encouraging their individuality and uniqueness.
As dedicated, qualified early childhood educators we also nurture our personal and professional development. We too want to nurture the relationships with our children, their families and our broader communities. We seek to build strong, meaningful relationships with local groups including our indigenous peoples. We seek and value input from all groups and believe that these relationships will only enhance our children’s (and our own) learning journey.
We believe in offering a safe and healthy space for all. Where we nurture and care for each other’s wellbeing. We operate as a team and help each other. We believe in continually improving, which means giving and receiving feedback respectfully, constantly working to improve our communication with all of our community members and, selecting and retaining team members who want to be here and contribute to the special place that is… Nurture Early Education.
